When news broke in early 2025 that Sean Hannity was preparing for a new chapter with longtime colleague Ainsley Earhardt, social media quickly shifted its attention to someone who had been absent from the spotlight for years: Jill Rhodes. Although Rhodes and Hannity finalized their divorce in 2020 after more than two decades of marriage, the renewed public focus on Hannity has prompted many to wonder what became of the woman who was once central to his personal and professional life.
Rhodes has never been a public figure in the way Hannity is, and that has been by choice. Even during her marriage to one of cable news’ most recognizable hosts, she maintained a careful distance from publicity, preferring a private life over the constant attention that comes with national media. As interest in Hannity rises again, curiosity about Rhodes’ path has followed. What has she been doing lately, and where has she chosen to build her life after stepping away from her marriage?
A Career Before the Headlines
Long before her name was connected to Fox News, Rhodes had built an identity in journalism on her own terms. She started her career as a political writer in Huntsville, Alabama, where local politics provided fertile ground for reporting. Her sharp writing and clear editorial voice made her well-known among readers of her column.
It was during this period, in the early 1990s, that she met Sean Hannity. He was then a rising radio host, and their encounters in the world of political reporting eventually grew into a relationship. The two married in 1993, beginning a partnership that would span more than two decades of professional changes, cross-country moves, and the expansion of Hannity’s career from radio to national television.
While Hannity took on increasingly visible roles in media, Rhodes made the decision to gradually step back from her own public work. She initially shifted from political writing to book editing, a role that allowed her to remain within the world of publishing while avoiding on-camera visibility. Over time, as the couple built their family and welcomed two children, Rhodes chose to leave journalism altogether to dedicate herself to parenting and creating stability at home.
A Life Built Away From the Spotlight
Throughout Hannity’s career ascent, Rhodes remained grounded in her preference for privacy. She rarely appeared at industry events, rarely gave interviews, and declined to build a public-facing identity tied to her husband’s fame. Even during the highest points of Hannity’s visibility, Rhodes maintained a low-profile presence, focusing on family life and personal responsibilities outside the public arena.
Friends and former colleagues have often described her as someone who valued personal boundaries and had little interest in the attention associated with national media. While Hannity became a familiar face in American households, Rhodes developed a life largely shielded from the pressure of public commentary.
When the couple announced their separation publicly in 2020—after having lived separately for several years—the tone was notably calm and mutual. Both emphasized their ongoing commitment to co-parenting, and both avoided the type of public disputes that often accompany high-profile breakups. Rhodes, true to her nature, remained silent, offering no interviews or statements. She simply stepped further back, allowing the news cycle to move forward without her participation.
Quiet Career Shifts After the Divorce
What happened after the marriage ended has been harder to piece together, largely because Rhodes has maintained the same level of privacy she always preferred. However, reports over the past several years suggest that she quietly returned to professional work.
Instead of returning to political writing, she reportedly moved into a television-related role behind the scenes, working as an editor. The timeline of this shift has never been fully clear. There were no public job announcements, no LinkedIn updates, no interviews explaining her re-entry into the workforce. The details were simply noted in passing by sources familiar with her life, leaving observers to infer that Rhodes was building a new routine on her own terms.
Her decision to work in television editing aligns with her earlier career interests. It allows her to use her editorial background while remaining far from the spotlight. Editing work is typically collaborative, technical, and creative, a world where visibility is minimal and privacy is easier to maintain. For Rhodes, this type of environment fits her long-standing preference for working quietly and independently.
No one knows exactly when she started or stopped this role. Some reports suggest she may still be involved in similar projects in 2025, while others believe she has transitioned again, perhaps into freelance editing or consulting. Without official statements, much of her professional life remains open to interpretation.
Life in 2025: What Is Known and What Is Not
As of 2025, Rhodes continues to remain almost entirely out of public view. She has not been photographed by media outlets, has not attended public events, and does not maintain a visible social-media presence. Her ability to live privately, even while connected to a major media figure, reflects a deliberate personal strategy: she has consistently chosen independence from her former husband’s public identity.
Those who know her describe her life today as grounded and stable, centered around family and personal priorities rather than public attention. Her two adult children remain a major focus, and she has reportedly structured her professional commitments around maintaining a flexible schedule that supports her family life.
Despite renewed interest caused by Hannity’s engagement, Rhodes has not inserted herself into any public conversations. She has not commented on her ex-husband’s relationship, nor has she responded to speculation about her own life. For her, privacy remains a guiding principle rather than a temporary choice.
Why Interest in Jill Rhodes Has Returned
The fascination with Rhodes reflects a larger public interest in the private lives of media personalities. Hannity’s prominence, combined with his upcoming marriage, has sparked a natural curiosity about the people who shaped his earlier life. Rhodes was with him during his formative years in media, supporting his transition from local radio to national television. For many fans, understanding Hannity’s current chapter feels incomplete without acknowledging the role Rhodes played in the previous ones.
Yet the contrast between the two is sharp. Hannity remains a central figure on cable news, openly discussing political issues and public events. Rhodes, meanwhile, has intentionally built a life without public commentary. That difference has only amplified the intrigue surrounding her.
What Her Story Suggests About Life After the Spotlight
Rhodes’ journey highlights an aspect of public life often overlooked: the decision not to participate in it. In a world where personal branding and constant visibility are increasingly encouraged, Rhodes represents the opposite path. She stepped away, not out of necessity, but out of choice, and maintained that distance even when curiosity about her life increased.
Her story underscores that a private life is still possible, even in an era of continuous media coverage. It also illustrates how individuals connected to well-known public figures can build their own lives outside the glare of publicity, creating routines, careers, and family relationships away from the noise.
A Future Written on Her Terms
Looking ahead, there is little to suggest Rhodes will return to public life. If anything, her consistent silence indicates a continued preference for independence and privacy. As Hannity moves toward a new marriage, Rhodes’ life will likely remain what it has been for years: steady, quiet, and self-directed.
For those curious about her story, the most accurate portrayal may be the simplest one. Rhodes has chosen a life defined not by publicity but by personal agency, and that choice continues to shape her path in 2025.
Her chapter may not be public, but it is entirely her own.
