In an endearing clip from her most recent video update, the Princess of Wales revealed the charming moniker she gives her youngest child, Prince Louis.
To commemorate the conclusion of her chemotherapy treatment, Catherine shared a family-oriented video with her fans, giving them a unique look into her strong relationship with all of her kids, especially young Louis.
The heartwarming video opened with the 42-year-old walking through a forest with her 42-year-old husband Prince William and their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
There was a sweet moment when the Princess called out to her youngest, “Lou-bugs, you lead the way.”
Fans of the royal family are not entirely unfamiliar with this pet name. When the Princess and her children visited the 3rd Upton Scout Group in Slough in May 2023, she assisted Prince Louis in toasting some marshmallows over an open flame. She then gave him a stick to throw away and said, “Pop that in the fire, Lou Bug.”
Catherine also gives her older children sweet, loving names. Princess Charlotte used to be called “poppet” and “Lottie,” and Prince George was called “little grape.”
Catherine stated in the very private video with her family that she will resume her public duties after her chemotherapy treatment is finished.
Her moving speech about her experience with cancer was delivered over pictures of the Waleses and their kids having fun in the great outdoors, strolling through forests, and holding hands.
The nine months that have passed since her serious health problems started have been “incredibly tough for us as a family,” according to Catherine, who also noted that the experience has given her a “new perspective on everything” and that “the cancer journey is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone.”
Due to her need for a full recovery, the royal mother, who is still working from home, hopes to resume a light schedule of public duties for the balance of the year. She hopes to attend a few events in the upcoming months.
“To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.” she wrote as she concluded her message, offering consolation to those who are still receiving cancer treatment.
