When your little one says their first words, it’s always a significant occasion. Even though members of the royal family generally keep their personal lives private, some have shared glimpses into their lives with their adorable broods, such as Prince Harry and Prince William.

Prince Archie
The Duke of Sussex claimed that Prince Archie said “Crocodile” as his first word. During an appearance on The Late Late Show, James Cordon’s US show, he revealed the information. “My son is now over a year and a half, he is hysterical, he has the most amazing personality, he’s already putting two or three words together, and he’s already singing songs,” the father shared an update on his mini-me son. The three-syllable word “crocodile” was his first word.”
Additionally, Harry revealed in his AppleTV+ mental health documentary, The Me You Can’t See, that Archie’s early vocabulary also included terms like “mama,” “papa,” and “grandma.” “I have a picture of Princess Diana in his nursery, and that was one of the first words he said—apart from ‘mama,’ ‘papa,’ and then ‘grandma,’” the Duke reminisced about his late mother. Prince Louis
It’s thought that Mary Berry, a former host of Great British Bake Off, served as inspiration for Prince Louis’s first word. When Princess Catherine and her husband, Prince William, appeared on a Christmas TV special together and she teamed up with the baking legend herself, she made the candid admission.
“One of Louis’s first words was ‘Mary,’ because right at his height are all my cooking books in the kitchen bookshelf,” the mother-of-three revealed, opening up. And since faces captivate kids so much, he would say, “That’s Mary Berry,” pointing out that your faces are all over your cookbooks. Thus, if he saw you today, he would undoubtedly recognize you.”

Prince George
George, the eldest son of Prince William and Princess Catherine, apparently had an animal for his first word! In 2014, while on the family’s royal tour of Australia, Prince William made reference to Prince George’s endearing first word in a speech to city dignitaries at the Sydney Opera House.
“Catherine and I were very grateful for the many kind messages and gifts from across the country that we received when George was born,” he stated.
“I suspect George’s first word might be ‘bilby’ (an Australian marsupial) – only because ‘koala’ is harder to say.”

David Armstrong-Jones
‘Chandelier’ is said to have been David Armstrong-Jones’ first baby word. Gyles Brandreth, a broadcaster, claimed that Princess Margaret’s son was aware of the term because his nanny called his cot mobile a chandelier.
The late Queen Elizabeth II’s close friend Gyles disclosed on his podcast series Rosebud: “I have been told by the people involved that it is true.”
“The explanation is that David was lying in a cot in Kensington Palace looking up, and there were nannies and things,” he continued. The caregiver gestured to objects, pointing out a mobile that said, “It’s a chandelier,” hanging from the ceiling. Chandelier, that was his first word.
