The royal family doesn’t frequently make public shows of affection. In an effort to always maintain their professionalism, the ever-stoic working royals usually avoid drawing attention to their personal relationship.

However, there is a moment on social media where Prince William unintentionally showed off his flirtatious side. It went viral on Instagram shortly after royal fan account @katemiddletonprincessofwales reposted an old video from October 2023.
William and Catherine were visiting Cardiff’s Grange Pavilion when the video was taken. The future King thought, “Who’s pinching my bottom?” as he posed for a picture with elderly residents of the neighborhood. He then winked and burst out laughing.
With a startled expression on her face, the Princess of Wales turned to face her husband and laughed, providing royal fans with an unprecedented look into the lighthearted side of their marriage.
The same aspect of their interaction that had previously gone unnoticed was quickly noticed by royal fans in the unearthed clip that quickly amassed thousands of views.
“You can see [Catherine] ask [William] ‘Who pinched it?’ if you zoom in.” and at the very end of the video, he responds, “I don’t know.” It gave me even more of a laugh. “William’s laughter was compared to that of his father, King Charles II, by other admirers.
One fan remarked, “He’s the double of his dad the way he laughs!” pointing out the similarities between the royal father and son. “His facial expression is a dead ringer for his father!”
The couple’s passionate and close embrace during the 2012 London Olympics, when Team GB won a gold medal in the final seconds, is possibly their most well-known “PDA” moment.
As his wife cheered, Prince William put his arms around her waist and helped her off the ground.
During their official welcoming ceremony on the first day of their 2016 royal tour of Canada, Catherine discreetly put her hand on her husband’s thigh, demonstrating their closeness.
The Prince and Princess of Wales made an appearance at Sandringham’s customary Christmas church service in December 2017 holding hands. William surely wanted to keep a close check on his wife, Catherine, as she carried Prince Louis at the time.
