In Feb. 2020, Prince William and Kate attended the BAFTAs — the British equivalent of the Oscars — at Royal Albert Hall.

“Kate, you look beautiful!” an onlooker shouted, before adding, “So do you, Will!”

Kate made headlines in 2018 for her dress choice for the annual BAFTAs. The royal, who was seven months pregnant with Prince Louis at the time, was criticized for walking the red carpet in a deep green gown with a black sash after attendees were encouraged to wear all black in support of the Time’s Up movement.

It is anticipated that Princess Kate will be able to attend the Wimbledon finals this weekend, but contingency plans are already in place in case she is unavailable. The Princess of Wales has made only one public appearance this year, during Trooping the Colour last month. According to The Telegraph, should Kate be unable to fulfill her duties, the Duchess of Gloucester is poised to step in and present the awards.

All England Club Chair Debbie Jevans has stated that Wimbledon officials will remain “flexible” regarding the final arrangements. A decision on who will present the trophies won’t be made until the morning of the women’s final on Saturday. Kensington Palace has not yet confirmed any further public engagements for Princess Kate as she continues to undergo preventative chemotherapy treatment.

Despite her reduced public presence, Kate remains a key figure in royal events, especially on the red carpet. Over the years, she and Prince William have turned heads with their stunning appearances at major events.

At the Top Gun: Maverick premiere in London in May 2022, Kate and William made a stylish pair, with Tom Cruise charmingly assisting Kate up a set of stairs. Kate dazzled at the No Time to Die premiere in September 2021, wearing a glittering gold gown that captured the attention of fans and media alike, perfectly fitting the glamor associated with the James Bond franchise.

The couple also made a family outing in December 2020, when they attended a Christmas pantomime play at the London Palladium with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, marking the children’s red carpet debut. The family stole the spotlight, showcasing the unity and charm of the younger generation of royals.

Kate’s appearances at prestigious events like the BAFTAs have consistently been showstoppers. In 2020, she wowed in a white gown paired with Princess Diana’s pearl and silver earrings, while Prince William looked every bit the part in a classic tuxedo. However, her appearance at the 2018 BAFTAs sparked some controversy when she wore a deep green gown instead of the all-black outfits encouraged in support of the Time’s Up movement, as she was seven months pregnant with Prince Louis at the time. Nonetheless, Kate continues to captivate audiences wherever she goes, making her a beloved figure in both royal and fashion circles.
