First up, the LEGO Ideas Botanical Garden is absolutely massive. Itās built on two LEGO baseplates, and measures 51cm (20 inches) wide, 25 cm (9.8 inches) deep, and 22cm (8.6 inches) tall. Itās absolutely massive in scale and sure to be a stunning addition to your LEGO display.
Itās NOT modular-compatible BUT I donāt see why you couldnāt slot this in between two modular buildings, as I think itāll still look incredible to introduce some green space into your LEGO Modular Street.
This set includes 12 LEGO minifigures, the most ever included in a LEGO Ideas set, featuring four staff members (the manager, two gardeners, and a barista) and various visitors. Additionally, the set comes with plenty of animals, including a dog, a squirrel, a bunny, four birds, and a beetle element, bringing the botanical garden to life.
Of particular note in this set is a minifigure with a visual-impairment. This is a first for LEGO representing someone with a visual-impairment without glasses, and the graphic designer Matt worked hard to ensure an authentic and respectful representation of someone with a visual impairment who doesnāt wear glasses.
With this being a Botanical Garden, the real stars of the set are the plant species depicted. 35 unique brick-built plants are included in the set, and the set also debuts a brand new tulip element as well, which should be great news for LEGO Botanical enthusiasts!
We were shown the set at RLFM Days 2024, when I was in Denmark in September, and hereās a photo I took of the Botanical Garden with the roof off.
There are three atriums in the set, and the main atrium features a spiral staircase leading to an observation deck, offering breathtaking views of two large exotic trees. The two smaller atriums house an arid garden filled with impressive cacti and a cozy cafƩ where visitors can relax.
The roof is utterly gorgeous, and there are two new elements included which will excite builders. There is a new 1Ć5 (instead of a 1Ć6) arch brick, which helped with the corners.
The new clear corner element is also new, and gives the Botanical Garden roof its distinct look!

I particularly like this one with the Botanical Garden suspended over an old bathtub!
It goes without saying thatĀ 21353 The Botanical GardenĀ is simply stunning. LEGO have modified it quite a bit from the fan designerās (Valentina Bima) initial model, but the overall size and footprint makes the final retail version look so much more grander, with plenty of breathing space.

21353 The Botanical GardenĀ will be released on 1 November 2024 (forĀ LEGO Insiders), will be available exclusively fromĀ LEGO.comĀ or your local LEGO Store.
What do you think of the LEGO Ideas Botanical Garden and what LEGO did with the final model? Will you be putting this on your end-of-year wishlist?
