Great news for Superman fans, as we now have confirmation that LEGO Superman sets will be making a return next year in 2025!
Speaking to License Global, Philippe Roucoule of Warner Bros. Discovery has proclaimed a “Summer of Superman” with LEGO confirmed as one of the toy partners.
This of course will be underpinned by James Gunn’s new Superman movie which premieres on 11 July 2025, and stars David Corenswet as the Man of Steel. With this being a tentpole release for DC and Warner Bros, I fully expect a decent slate of LEGO sets to support the movie release.
I have a soft spot for LEGO Superman sets, and can’t wait to see what they cooked up. The Man of Steel sets were decent, but 6862 Super Heroes Superman vs Power Armor Lex also holds special significance to me as it’s one of the earliest LEGO sets I reviewed when this blog first started out.
Looking at the cast list, apart from Superman staples like Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Lex Luthor, and Jonathan Kent, DC characters like Rick Flag Jr, Kara Zor-El (Supergirl), Guy Gardner (Green Lantern) and Hawkgirl will appear in the movie, so hopefully they translate to LEGO minifigures as well.
It’s still very early days, as we don’t even have a trailer for James Gunn’s Superman movie, but I’m excited to see LEGO Superman take to the skies again.
