Meanwhile, Aleksandar Mitrovic has been one of the most prolific strikers in the SPL since his move to the Middle East. The 30-year-old has scored 20 goals and provided three assists in 23 games across competitions for Al-Hillal this season.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s former teammate gives opinion on G.O.A.T debate
Former Argentina international Angel Di Maria has labelled Lionel Messi as the Greatest of All Time. Di Maria played with Messi at Paris Saint-Germain and La Albiceleste. He was teammates with Ronaldo at Real Madrid.
Speaking recently on DSportRadio (via Albiceleste Talk on X), the Benfica winger hailed Messi as the best player of all time.
“I only see Messi as the greatest of all time, it’s impossible to reach higher than that. Everyone else is far below him,” Di Maria said.
“Having trained and played with him, seeing every training session, all his preparation, how much he wants to win, how he doesn’t like to miss a pass… it’s everything in general. It’s hard to put into words, but I think Leo gives you all of that. He gives you what one wants to be as a player,” he added.
Di Maria played with Messi 142 times, registering 16 goals involvements together. He shared the pitch 166 times with Ronaldo, recording 26 joint goal participations.
